Dextrose 40% concentrate solution Injection is very hypertonic solution, it must be injected slowly to avoid local irritation also local osmotic incretion.
Use with caution administration of carbohydrate in patient with lactate acidosis.
This solution should not be mixed with blood transfusion, it may cause coagulation of red blood cell and hemolysis.
Hyperglycemia, the effect of osmotic may cause anuria, oliguria, circulatory collapse.
If the pH of solution is low, it may caused thrombophlebitis.
Reactions that may occur due to the solution or its administration, including burn sensation, infection on injection site, venous thrombotic or wide phlebitis from injection site, extravasation and hypervolemia.
Store below 30°C.
Do not use if the solution is cloudy, changes colour, containing visible solid particles, also if the container is damaged and leaking.
